Four stunners AND a Sticky for this weekend's tasting

Four wines, a sticky, oh and look, a whole restock of Trapiche Malbec arrived back in store on Monday!

This week's FREE wine tastings are awesome. Look at this!

Church Road McDonald Series 2013 Merlot

2013 was without question the best vintage Hawkes Bay has offered ever. Michael Cooper rates this 5 stars and in his 2016 review of all NZ wines he awards it Best Red Wine Buy of the Year. "Dark, fragrant, powerful wine with dense, ripe plummy, spicy flavours, a hint of coffee, and lovely softness and richness...Enjoy it with hearty red meat dishes" he says. A bargain at $25.99 where elsewhere it can be $29.99!

Matahiwi Estate Pinot Gris

What a wine! Awarded Double Gold at the CWSA Best Value awards, 5 stars by Wine Orbit and 90 points by Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier. Rich, creamy, Alsace in style, this Pinot Gris is what we would call big, fat and a bit buttery if it was a Chardonnay. If you love big flavours and a smooth mouth feel, this is your baby! Great with pork dishes, specially if there's a bit of cream about! At the cellar door it's $19.99, we've secured a big bunch of there ouptput and saved you 25% of that with our very reasonable $14.99 price tag.

Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc

Dry, fresh and lively - in other words classic Marlborough Savvy. Enjoy it today for just $15.99 when you might pay up to $20 or more elsewhere. Like all savvy's it can be enjoyed with Asian inspired seafood dishes, grilled fish, fresh salads, Thai dishes and most food plates featuring herbs and greens.

Real Compania de Vinos Tempranillo

Spain produces amazing value wines and this is no snoozer. At an amazing $13.99 it over delivers on every count. It's a dry rich chewy wine with great matching potential with tapas, chorizo, meaty pizzas, duck and any game meat. It'll stand next to any big flavoursome meal and hold its own.

THE STICKY! Matahiwi Estate Holly Late Harvest

This is a blend of botrytised Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling from Wairarapa. Honey is on the bouquet with citrus and stonefruit flavours coming through. Enjoy this with any cheese board, or sweets influenced by custard and/or vanilla.
